Specialist training for prospective master craftsmen at the Hesse Metalworking College
Tietjen has an extensive training programme and also teaches on site at technical colleges.
At the Hesse Metalworking College in Oberursel, Germany, Enno Westfal trained prospective master craftsmen, who are studying agricultural and construction machinery mechatronics, on the topic of compressed air brake systems on tractor vehicles and trailers. Tietjen has been helping the metalworking college to prepare the master craftsman's examination for many years.
Here is an extract from the metalworking college's report on the training programme:
" ... The topic of 'compressed air brake systems' is particularly important, as all agricultural goods need to be transported as safely as possible without damaging them. In order to achieve this, vehicles need to be braked quickly and safely and it is also important that parked vehicles are not able to move off accidentally. The weight of self-propelled farming machinery and trailers has increased significantly, meaning that it is now absolutely essential to have two independent brake systems on these vehicles.
Enno Westfal informed the students about the regulations for brake systems, their design and operation on tractor vehicles and trailers, as well as about potential faults and maintenance.
The students were able to take away a lot of useful information for the examination and for their future activities. Dipl.- Ing. Tietjen GmbH has been supporting the students of the Hesse Metalworking College for several years with their preparation for the master craftsman's examination. We are very grateful to them for that!"
